NEW ORLEANS (March 2, 2011) – The New Orleans VooDoo released quarterback Lester Ricard and activated center Nick Royal from the refused to report list, announced the front office on Wednesday afternoon.
Ricard, a Tulane standout, was 2-for-7 passing for 12 yards and two interceptions in the VooDoo’s scrimmage against the Dallas Vigilantes on Friday night.
Royal will compete for a spot on the final 24-man roster, and will participate in today’s practice. Royal was acquired via a trade with the Pittsburgh Power on February 25 for a future consideration.
